Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be in outer space? Do you have questions about how rockets work or how astronauts live inside a spacecraft? Here’s your chance to find out.

The Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight course by MIT makes the basics of spaceflight accessible to everyone. MIT Professor Jeffrey Hoffman, a former NASA astronaut who made five spaceflights and was the first astronaut to log 1000 hours on the Space Shuttle, teaches the core principles behind space travel and exploration in this course.

Do you have questions about spaceflight? Do you want to learn more about the Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight? On Wednesday, September 20th from 12p-1:30p EST, ask your questions to Jeffrey Hoffman, MIT professor and former astronaut, who teaches this course here on edX.

How to participate in the AMA:

AMA means “Ask Me Anything.” Questions about the Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight, exploring outer space, living on a spacecraft and more are fair game.

12p EST: We’ll post the AMA and link to it from this page. We’ll also message the AMA out via edX social channels (follow edX on Facebook and Twitter).

12p-1:30p EST: Redditors – students and non-students alike – ask questions and can vote on other questions according to which they would like to see answered. Be sure to log in, ask your questions, and upvote others’ questions and comments to help guide the conversation – see below for more information on how Reddit works. Professor Hoffman will go through and respond to any questions they would like.
