On MLK Day, A Focus on Education and a Better Tomorrow

Today honors Martin Luther King Jr., a civil rights pioneer in America and beyond.

MLK Jr. was an advocate for humanity, justice, education and service. Though a leader from the U.S., the King holiday is observed by more than 100 nations around the globe. It is a day to honor his work and his legacy.

MLK Jr. was fully committed to education and to furthering human rights around the globe. In fact, his holiday is a day for community service –  “a day on, not a day off.”

MLK Jr Quote: "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."

As we all honor Dr. King’s great legacy today, we invite people to join a global learning community, to access education and learn how to make our world and society a better place. From International Human Rights to social change to building tomorrow’s sustainable cities, we invite you to learn with us and shape a better future.
