U.Lab is a new type of MOOC that pushes the design envelope by blending a globally transformative platform with an ecosystem of deep personal, locally grounded learning communities. The goal of the course is to empower change makers to co-sense and co-shape the future.
Integrating prerecorded video into a course is a great teaching tool, and we’ve been working hard to create a set of videos to facilitate learning in U.Lab. Each week, we release prerecorded videos and assignments that will help participants put the U.Lab ideas into practice.
That said, all truly transformative learning environments are built on the same principle: providing mechanisms that help learners see themselves through the eyes of another – both individually and collectively. Therefore, in addition to prerecorded video, we will also host LIVE classroom sessions, facilitated by U.Lab instructor Otto Scharmer, that will connect participants from around the world together in real time. Last year, 15,000 people tuned into these live broadcasts. These live sessions will include mini-lectures, guided meditation, and collective real-time knowledge creation. Our experience running these sessions last year shows that they are an important element in using a MOOC to activate a global field of inspired action learning communities.
Live session dates:
WEEK 1: September 17th from 10.00am – 11.15am EDT (UTC -4)
WEEK 4: October 8th from 10.00am – 11.15am EDT (UTC -4)
