We are excited to welcome the Zürich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) as a partner to the edX community of over 150 top universities, colleges and companies.
The ZHAW is the first applied sciences university to join edX, and is a leading educational institution in Switzerland focusing on research, development, and continuing education into the most important societal challenges, with a focus on energy and social integration.
The first courses from the ZHAW are Global Business and Human Rights and Aquaponics: The Circular Food Production System. The business and human rights course discusses the ethical and legal questions of globalization, including how businesses are linked to human rights issues. Learners will become more aware of these connections and learn how to mitigate/address these issues within their own companies. The aquaponics course covers the basics of how an aquaponic system works, including fish and plant welfare and nutrition, and how to plan and design a successful system. Both courses are open for enrollment now and will start in March 2021.
edX and the ZHAW recognize the importance of online learning, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic drives more people to learn online than ever before. We’re thrilled that the ZHAW is making their expertise available to the 35 million learners on edX. We look forward to announcing additional courses, including some in German, in the near future.
Please join me in welcoming the Zürich University of Applied Sciences to edX.
