We are excited to announce that Draper University, a pre-incubator and accelerator founded by fourth generation venture capitalist, Tim Draper, has joined the edX partner community. edX and Draper University are both committed to transforming the traditional approaches to education and entrepreneurship, respectively. We’re thrilled to bring their unique expertise and course offering to our 37 million learners.
Draper University’s mission is to inspire people and accelerate ideas by igniting the entrepreneurial spirit globally. It has over 2,000 graduates from 86 countries; and over 700 startups have been launched with a collective $367M in funding.
Draper University’s first offering on edX is based on its popular Hero Training program, an intensive, immersive five-week entrepreneurship program that develops the essential startup skills needed to launch and sustain a successful venture, gain exposure to industry experts, and network with other entrepreneurs. The course, Be the Startup Hero: Draper University Business Plan Competition, is designed for entrepreneurial-minded learners to think through every aspect of a business plan and prepare to pitch actual investors. It is taught by a world-renowned group of founders, investors, and operators who are at the peak of their careers.
“The world needs more heroes right now and we are bringing the top experts and operators in Silicon Valley to train them through our online program.” said Tim Draper, Founder of Draper University. “We'll be choosing winners from this online program on a rolling basis for a full scholarship to our residential program 'Hero Training' in San Mateo this summer and will also be investing in the top companies through this partnership.”
We’re thrilled to be able to offer this unique opportunity to our learners. Please join me in welcoming Draper University to edX!
