Curtin University Joins edX University Advisory Board as a Contributing Charter Member

Today, I would like to invite the edX global community of learners and partners to join me in welcoming Curtin University to the edX University Advisory Board (UAB) as a contributing charter member. The UAB is made up of senior academic leaders from edX’s global university partners and they serve as the chief advisory body to our company.

As a world-class, internationally focused institution, Curtin’s mission is to change minds, lives and the world through leadership, innovation and excellence in teaching and research. Since joining edX in May 2015, Curtin’s partnership has demonstrated a true commitment to both their mission and edX’s own mission – to increase access to high-quality education for everyone, everywhere.

Our mission-driven partnership is also rooted in a shared commitment to furthering innovation in education and providing global access to high quality programs. Curtin was one of the first edX partners to launch a groundbreaking MicroMasters® program and, most recently, Curtin participated in the launch of disruptively priced, high-quality and flexible online Master’s programs on edX.

“Joining edX in 2015 has opened up many opportunities for Curtin University to collaborate with leading global universities to deliver innovative learning and teaching options,” said Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry. “Our partnership with edX has already increased access to high-quality education for online learners around the world and I am delighted this new development will further strengthen our relationship with this leading platform, which is responsible for transforming education by removing the barriers of cost, location and access.”

I would like to take the time to thank Curtin for its commitment to online learning and the future of edX. We very much look forward to continuing our valued partnership and developing more innovative content for learners worldwide.
