Celebrate edX’s 3rd Birthday – And Ask YOUR Questions!

Join a celebration of free education

Three years ago, edX opened its virtual doors, offering its first course to learners anywhere in the world for free. With a mission of bringing the highest quality education to learners everywhere, we set out to change the landscape of education both online and on campus. Thanks to the unwavering support of our partners and our incredibly passionate learning community, we are proud to now offer more than 500 courses to our global community of learners that is more than 4 million strong!

Looking back over the last three years, we could not be prouder of our learners, partners, faculty and staff for everything they have accomplished. The amazing stories of our learners inspire us every day, and we are awed by how our open source community continues to engage with and advance our platform in new and exciting ways. Thanks to you, we are celebrating three successful years – and looking forward to many more!

This year, we want to invite you to join our 3rd birthday celebration via live stream on June 8th from 12:30 to 1:30 PM EDT. Ask us your questions and share your favorite three courses using #edX3. We will also be honoring our 2nd Open-iversary of releasing our platform as open source.

Here’s our lineup of special guests who will be taking your questions live:

  • Erdin Beshimov – Teaching Fellow at MITx and the host of User Innovation
  • Andy Andres – Senior Lecturer of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Boston University College of General Studies, teaching Sabermetrics on edX starting July 7
  • Sarina Canelake – Open Source Manager, edX
  • David (D.B.) Baumgold – Developer Advocate, edX
  • Beth Porter – Vice President of Product, edX
  • And more!

Also, we will be making a special announcement regarding our summer plans here at edX that you won’t want to miss. Be sure to tune in and see what we have planned to help you make this your best summer yet!

We are excited to celebrate with you, our learners, with our partners, faculty, open source community, and staff to honor all that we have accomplished together in the last three years.
