Today’s global tech companies are all considering how artificial intelligence (AI) can positively impact their business, making Machine Learning (ML) talent more sought after than ever – but there continues to be a skills gap.
According to LinkedIn, there are around 300,000 AI practitioners globally but millions more roles available for people with these qualifications. LinkedIn researchers claim that 2017 saw a 9.8x growth in demand for machine learning engineers—beating data scientists, sales development representatives, and customer success managers to the title of #1 emerging job. Plus, TechRepublic ranks Machine Learning as the top AI skill.
EdX and AWS have collaborated to put ML in the hands of learners across the globe. Building on the momentum of our AWS Developer Professional Series, we are excited to announce our newest collaboration: Amazon SageMaker: Simplifying Machine Learning Application Development. This intermediate-level course, built by AWS experts and available exclusively on edX, provides a baseline understanding of ML and how applications can be built and deployed using Amazon SageMaker.
Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed machine learning service that allows developers and data scientists to quickly and easily build/train ML models and directly deploy them into a production-ready hosted environment. We recommend this course for existing cloud-native developers or developers who are upskilling in ML; data science background or expertise is not required. It’s suggested that learners gain familiarity with the AWS Console, tools, and services by completing the AWS Developer Professional Series on edX before beginning this course.
