edX Welcomes Arm Education
August 18, 2020 | Carolyn Tiernan
We are excited to welcome Arm Education as the newest member of the edX partner community. Arm Education is part of the Research Group in Arm, a leading technology company powering today’s computing and data revolution.
Arm Education’s first course on edX is Embedded Systems Essentials with Arm: Getting Started. Embedded systems are the fundamental building blocks of the ‘Internet of Things’ and 5G technologies that we take for granted today: mobile phones, smart devices, and wearables, just to name a few. In the future, this technology will be transformative for healthcare, automotive design and infrastructure. The course teaches the fundamentals of an embedded system and includes interactive labs that cover technical fundamentals needed for an embedded systems engineer. It is open for enrollment starting today.
Dr. Khaled Benkrid, Senior Director, Education and Research, Arm shared: “This online course from Arm Education is the first in a series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) designed to unleash the potential of students, aspiring and practicing engineers, and the wider global learner community, with free-to-access practical knowledge and skills in computer engineering and informatics. Working with both academics and practitioners, we cover theory fundamentals and demonstrate applicability through state-of-the-art technologies and tools from the vast Arm ecosystem. The knowledge and skills you will learn in these courses have direct applicability in our everyday lives.”
Arm Education is committed to closing education and skills gaps in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. edX looks forward to sharing this highly in-demand and skills-relevant course, and future Arm Education content to come, with our community of over 33 million learners.
Please join me in welcoming Arm Education to edX.
